@nitinkhanna Until the modern period, family and divorce were mostly private matters and when a family broke apart the woman was on her own and had to try and make a new family, and the man was on his own and had to try and make a new family. State mandated visitation rights and alimony are quite modern inventions I think. I’m not saying good or bad, just that weird is a matter of perspective. Bag of hurt nonetheless. // @matigo @sumudu
