It might be worth looking up how dog vision works. There may be more to it than you’d think. If it’s similar to ours, then you'd want a 50mm lens and blurring outside the centre. I know prey animals like sheep have weird eyes that can focus on the periphery and cats have a strong centre focus for hunting. Given that dogs hunt in groups rather than alone, maybe their focusing is somewhere between us and cats…I don’t know. Don’t dogs also see in B+W? If so, tonality is important.
