@hazardwarning I wonder why they’re putting fibre overhead. It’s not the British way. When I switched to Virgin, they put the fibre cable through the retaining wall at the bottom of the garden, under the lawn and through the house wall. I was going to ask if your local project is coming from the authorities or the companies, but it’s getting hard to tell the difference between authorities and companies these days; they are like co-rulers.

@matigo Go for walks and try and normalise. I think you’re still in shock. It’s such a shame that you’re isolated from family in such a horrible time. Is your family back in Canada willing to do video calls so you can see their faces?
When you go out, consider talking to people instead of just powering along. Maybe go to coffee shops and do some interacting…if you can.

On the 28th of January I ordered a custom build MacBook Pro. It arrived today. Just over four and a half months. Phew, what a performance. The reseller was great though. Lots of reassuring communication and information. We ended up quite matey. He gave me the option of cancelling the order several times….but I’d already sold the kidney.
Anyway, it’s a 16 inch Max with 24 core G.P.U.. The R.A.M. and storage is enough for me. The plan is to use it for photo editing and maybe try some of those Topaz Labs upscaling apps which need a lot of oomph.
