I like the Sony Bravia picture. I’m able to get it detailed and quite bright and quite contrasty and quite vibrant without looking unreal or garish. Just right. I probably have it a bit more toned-down than most people because realism is important to me.

I wonder if any people live permanently in hotels these days. It seems to have been a thing in the early twentieth century for some old, rich people to rent a suite in a luxury hotel. In their later years, Vladimir Nabokov and his wife lived in a Swiss hotel. When asked why, the writer said ‘freedom’. Must be nice to not have to maintain one’s gaff and to get room service whenever you feel like it. You never hear of anyone doing this nowadays.
