Interesting, makes me think of something the person who started Fortean Times said. He said that mystical thinking isn’t a flaw in the system. It’s a feature, just in case the patterns we think we’ve noticed turn out to be true.

And Jordan Peterson says that negative thinking (which is more common in women than men) is useful when looking after children…but that there’s a price to pay. Namely anxiety.

Mate, I’m amazed you get any of it done with all your other commitments. No one could ever accuse you of being lazy.

My parents have been travelling around the country for the last week. Mostly Scotland. Now they’re in Morcambe. I’m not sure this touring is wise at the moment. Hopefully they’re not picking anything up.

Another day, another iOS Spotify update (the ten trillionth probably). Another exhortation to keep auto updates turned on.

Dear Swedish gobshites,

Do you want to share them? I'm curious; it seems epidemiological.

Thanks for all your hard work. It’s looking good.

I wonder what causes it. It seems common in society nowadays.

Is there a memory component to the anxiety? Do you have flashbacks of some former incompetence which made you feel a bit stupid? I sometimes have these fragmentary flashbacks of being a blithering buffoon when I was a youth. And I feel a weird shiver of embarrassment even though it was so long ago. But maybe I’m describing something quite different…

I’m permanently disgusted by the rules of the internet. But I see no signs that the so-called digital town square is going to be made decent. Except maybe ideologically…and we don’t want that. We are just the little people. As far as the oligarchy is concerned, we are basically owned anyway, so they will keep letting their friends spam our inboxes.
