There is a not very official phrase called 'pre-traumatic stress disorder'. Supposedly, It explains things like Israeli/Jewish fears of a future genocide or many people's fear of future climate changes, that sort of thing. There is a lot of it about these days and I don't think it's accidental. Whenever there is an example of widespread pre-traumatic stress disorder, the same thing always comes afterwards: our freedoms being taken away. But now I've probably given you pre-traumatic stress disorder. Oops.
