I saw a nice cloud formation and wanted to photograph it through of the window. The camera was right behind me on the table; that’s why I keep it there. But then I thought 'I’ll have to faff about trying to find the right scene mode' (my camera doesn’t take great blue sky fluffy cloud pics in its normal SPAM modes) and decided not to bother. With my phone I would have taken it in an instant because it intelligently knows what to do with skies. So why didn’t I take one with the phone? Because of its stupid wide-angle lens. It can’t single out a scene within a scene. Anyway, my main point is that the phone has made me very lazy with taking pics. When using the normal camera I long for the extreme simplicity of the Smartphone Smartcamera.

You can’t take your laptop to a quiet room?

I'm sick of hearing that breezy question: ‘have you had your jab yet?’

When I’m irked and can’t be bothered with most things, watching a photography video is a favourite calming experience.

‘Aldous Huxley on Technodictators’ is a trenchant six minute Youtube video.

10.8 Mountain Lion was slightly more cute, in my opinion 😋

Perhaps you should work in the kitchen more often.

I wonder when Murasaki will become nice.social. It seems like it should be the canonical 10C.

I hope they let you run with it.

What you needed was SMS to 10C functionality like uses on his nomad site. On the other hand, getting offline was probably good for you…
