Given the stories that come out periodically about Chinese expatriates working for the regime, I don’t see why we shouldn’t be cautious, especially with news like that (the web server).

China is expected to report that its population dropped in 2020, back to below 1.4 billion. This, if correct, would be nearly a decade earlier than official projections for when the population was to peak.

Woah, interesting. Looks like India will be number one very soon. The last time I looked, India’s population was projected to reach two billion before slipping back as well. Perhaps it won’t get so high but it looks likely to get a few hundred mil. above Chin.

Good on what, a Kindle?

I keep forgetting about the e-stuff. I haven’t been to the library since the beginning of 2020, if that. I’m sceptical about e-readers though. I’ve never used one but I’ve heard that they don’t support every character and symbol which would be a sin in my book. If it was a P.D.F. with photocopied pages I’d be more inclined to read it. And audiobooks are OK sometimes.

That’s when an ability for discernment is a good thing.
