'Bear' looks like a nice Mac note-taking programme but they insist on pay-by-subscription and getting from the AppShop. Up with that I will not put.

I know there's 'Notes' but I'm trying to use less of Big Tech's built-in tools and use more discrete third-party tools.

I'm drowning in information. I wonder if there's a Mac app that'll allow me to archive, collate and organise lots of articles and texts and snippets and quotes. Just using browser bookmarks and text files in folders isn't good enough. There must be a better way.
