@matigo It doesn’t matter whether it’s representative or direct. You still end up with careerist stiffs infected with institutional imperatives. Direct democracy through something like a rotating jury system would be better but that still leaves other problems…like how do you get rid of exploitative lobbying while retaining reasonable lobbying?

@matigo With toddlers you gain relatedness but lose quite a bit of autonomy. :-)
I’m worried about the World's economic and financial state. A big ugly crash wouldn’t surprise me.
@larand He’s hated plenty of other jobs though. So he seems to have found something that suits him (delivering white goods into people’s kitchens with lots of travelling across the region).
My brother says he hates days when he’s off work…because it’s boring. Not a sentiment you hear often.
