@jws Yeah, that’s much nicer. I still don’t like it quite as much, but maybe I’m biased against the unfamiliar. I wonder how many people can read and write in the Shavian alphabet…

@jws My attempt at designing a new alphabet was just a dabble. It certainly wasn’t complete. It was not an attempt to be rational like Shaw. It was just about being ergonomically sleek. I think it looked a bit like Gregg shorthand. There were no symbols for words or phrases; it was merely letter for letter.
Having seen Shavian beside Roman, I don’t like looking at the new one very much. I think the Roman is more pleasing to the eye. Shavian looks coldly rational. The Roman looks more human, with all that that implies. If Shavian had been around in the 1790s it would have been perfect for inscribing on temples of reason…with a little modification for French.
