Cyndi Lauper was blasting loudly out of an amp from the local church just now (8:50pm). I wonder what that is about.
@peemee Sometimes I think I should get something with more fidelity but I don't even use my bluetooth speakers as much as my laptop speakers so probably no point.
@peemee One thing I learned a while ago is that when you've had pain for a long time, the pain centres in the body can become over-sensitive and start firing when there's no danger of injury. The latest advice seems to be to keep working and conditioning the painful bits rather than rest every time you get pain. The human body is strong and resilient and you're unlikely to do permanent damage with normal exercise. A physio sent me some links about it and some of the testimonials were people saying 'I wish I'd known about this years ago'. Of course, this doesn't apply if it's pain caused by a disease like lupus or arthritis. Exercise won't magically fix that.
Does this sound consistent with what you were told during your recent rehabilitation?
@matigo A lot of these 'free from' companies are very small. If they get big then I'll probably be less trusting.
@matigo A bakery is a lab. A brewery is a lab. A kitchen is a lab. It depends on who is doing the lab work and what their game is. Fresh, whole food is always best but even that has issues doesn't it? Some of what I buy is organic which is surely safer but growing and rearing your own is bestest of the best if you can do it.
I’ve tried plant-based, vegan cheese for the first time. I bought it thinking 'this will probably be horrible', but it’s actually quite nice.
@peemee It's surprising how quickly exercise can have a positive impact on the body.
I find it really hard to choose a picture to hang on my walls because pictures I like and pictures I want on my walls are two different things. For my walls, the picture has to create the right atmosphere. I've looked at hundreds of paintings so far and still can't make a decision. My favourite so far is probably a Thayer painting of an angel sitting on a cloud. But I'm also tempted by one of those James Audubon bird paintings, like the Jer Falcons one.
