Not a very comforting system if you ask me. I’m surprised the Americans didn’t change that during the occupation. On the other hand, Japanese prisons look much nicer than British ones.

I saw an in-depth, ninety minute documentary about Carlos Ghosn, his rise to prominence and the Nissan affair. I have to say, it reflects very poorly on Japan that people would conspire to destroy an innocent man and his family—especially after he turned around that company while keeping it very much separate and distinctively Japanese—just so they could reduce French influence. Without Carlos Ghosn, Nissan may not even exist now. And how come the Japanese prosecutor has a 99.4% conviction rate? What’s all that about? The sad thing is, that American guy who was also arrested is still living in purgatory waiting for his trial. The severe restrictions on him and his wife mean they don’t have much of a life.

[Well I think he’s innocent, but what do I know?]

Strange. I wonder if it got corrupted. Did you sort it out eventually?

I don’t know about anyone else but it’s not really grabbing me. I think the problem is that I prefer video. I like interesting videos on YouTube. Even if it’s just someone talking, I like to see their face. I like to see the expressions, mannerisms, body language etc. And for those people who like to listen to traditional audio podcasts while on the go, I imagine their phones are going to be in their pockets.

There will be far more that fail. You just don’t hear about them.

It’s good fun as long as a flash flood doesn’t destroy your house.

Nice photo. Good midge habitat. (Apple wanted me to type ‘good midget habit’.)
