@hazardwarning Fair point. But the people crunching those numbers (a London hospital) have experience in analysing previous epidemics, so I wonder if they factor that in.

If bubonic plague is ten on a scale of danger and seasonal flu is one, where does COVID-19 slot in? Because we’re responding as if it were about nine. Of course, if it’s death rate is similar to seasonal flu but is much better at spreading itself around, then it could be pretty nasty. But on the other hand, how many of the dead are people who have been leading incredibly unhealthy lifestyles for decades?
