What do people mean when they talk about a 'limited hangout'?
@sumudu I think 2025 will contain similar horrible things as 2024. And there's a chance it could be worse. But I can't see the future so maybe I should stop being negative.

@matigo Happy New Year. I don't want to be unnecessarily maungy but I'm not looking forward to 2025.
That's two old people I've seen fall over in the last week. An old man was blown by the wind onto his back at the bottom of a down escalator (three of us had to step over him). An old lady face planted while stepping into a cafe today. I was shocked by how well she recovered and went on her way. And that's not counting my dad a few weeks ago.
Driving on Christmas day was really good because there were no wagons on the road.
@matigo I had no idea that was going on. Thanks for letting us know that we need to be skeptical of those reviews in future. I thought Bezos was a clever man but over-optimisation is not what clever people do. It's such a short-term approach.

@peemee I wonder what's the closest speaker to HomePod in terms of sound tech that is independent—ie. not part of some Big Tech ecosystem.
@hazardwarning I don't adore his art. I'm not sure I adore any artist's work but I like the palette and atmosphere of his paintings.
